Why Milton Keynes ?

A lot of people ask me that — and honestly, some even ask where Milton Keynes is. What’s so exciting about it? To be fair, I used to wonder the same.

Back when I was a student in Oxford, my impression of Milton Keynes was simple: plenty of green space, and a hub for logistics. London always seemed like the shinier, more exciting option, so I never gave Milton Keynes much thought.

Fast forward to today — a different stage of life, and in many ways, a different world. Just a few weeks back, under perfect summer skies, I went back to see Milton Keynes with fresh eyes. This time, the greenery felt priceless. I noticed the headquarters of major employers like Santander, Red Bull Racing, and Network Rail. I saw neat streets, clean design, and even driverless robotic buses. What really struck me was how progressive and forward-looking the city has become.

Over the years, Milton Keynes has grown into a key player in the UK’s “Silicon Valley” corridor — linking Oxford, Cambridge, London, and beyond. And just to add to the momentum: a major Universal Studios theme park and resort — the Universal United Kingdom Resort — is planned for a 700-acre site near Bedford, only a 20-minute drive from Milton Keynes. Confirmed by the UK Government in April 2025 and set to open in 2031, it will be the first Universal-branded theme park in Europe, drawing global attention and huge investment to the region.

Why it makes sense

Milton Keynes just works — both as a place to live and as an investment story. Its location is unbeatable: 32 minutes to London, under an hour to Birmingham, and direct links to Oxford and Cambridge. That makes life easier for tenants — and boosts returns for investors.

Add in a housing shortage, a £600m local economy, and ambitious expansion plans, and the result is high rental demand with low vacancy rates. The UK Government has big plans too: Milton Keynes is on course to become the UK’s first “Smart City” with recent tech deals promising billions in investment and thousands of new jobs.

And then there’s affordability. Compared to London, Milton Keynes offers families and professionals quality homes at a fraction of the price — with excellent schools, sports facilities, and cultural life right on the doorstep. No wonder more people are moving in — and no wonder investors are paying attention.

Why I’m excited about Eastbrook Village

This is the very first release of a landmark development in Milton Keynes. Having watched the developer, Berkeley deliver exceptional projects for more than 20 years, I know they’ll bring the same vision and quality to Eastbrook Village.

Eastbrook will deliver over 4,600 low-carbon homes, supported by a new strategic road network, three primary schools, a secondary school, shops, restaurants, healthcare facilities, essential services, office space, and community hubs. The masterplan also includes over 250 acres of public open space — including a magnificent 150-acre country park — plus more than 4 million square feet of new commercial space.

This project is unlocking one of the most complex sites in the region and delivering the social and transport infrastructure needed to support thousands of new homes. It embodies everything the UK Government has been working toward: sustainable growth and neighbourhoods fit for the future.

For me, this feels like a rare chance to get in early — to secure something that’s not just a home, but part of the future of a city that’s going places.

Being part of the first phase isn’t just an opportunity. It’s a smart move.
