The Green Quarter

You may recall that I recently wrote to you about Do Ho Suh’s exhibition “Walk the House.” One of the works that stood out to me was Robin Hood Gardens, Woolmore Street, London E14 0HG—a powerful video capturing the story of Robin Hood Gardens, a brutalist housing estate in Poplar, East London. The local council decided to redevelop the area back in 2008, and the artist documented its transformation using time-lapse photography, drone footage, and photogrammetry—capturing not only the building itself but also the traces of the lives and homes it once contained before demolition.

For some commentators, regeneration is a “dirty word” — synonymous with gentrification and the loss of local character. But as a real estate professional, I see regeneration differently. It is the lifeblood of sustainable urban growth — the force that keeps cities alive, relevant, and ready for the future. Done well, regeneration doesn’t erase a place; it re-energises it, creating vibrant communities where none existed before.

And few developers do this better than Berkeley. Time and again, they have transformed overlooked areas into thriving destinations: Royal Arsenal, Woodberry Down, and now The Green Quarter. These projects prove that bold regeneration delivers not just homes, but entire neighbourhoods brimming with life, value, and opportunity.

From an investment perspective, regeneration is where the smart money flows. The rule is simple: get in early and buy right. Over decades in real estate, I’ve seen this strategy turn forgotten corners of London into remarkable success stories—and the key has always been choosing the right developer.

I’ve personally facilitated sales in the early phases of The Green Quarter, and I’m delighted to share that those purchasers have already seen returns. In fact, some clients are celebrating their profits by buying me meals—at my “demand”—and they’ve been more than happy to do so, given how well their investments have performed!

That’s why I am so excited about the new phase of The Green Quarter — Berkeley’s most ambitious regeneration yet and the largest in London today. This isn’t just another project; it’s a once-in-a-generation opportunity. If you’re serious about securing a future-proof investment—or finding a home in one of London’s most exciting transformations—now is the time to act.

Come and see us about The Green Quarter.
